Zalmona by Good Journey out of our mare Romandrama has just been awarded Best Performed Horse for 2018/19 in South Australia. Born, bred and raised on Tosca Farm. Congratulations to trainers Peter and Belinda Blanch for having a great year with him and improving him with every performance. Congratulations to Nadia Pierce who prepped him for the sales and picking him as the best of our draft.

Peter Blanch said: "Words can't describe how very proud we are to train the 2018-2019 Best Performed Racehorse for South Australia, Zalmona. We are so very proud of this honest horse. Congratulations to owners John and Laura, Gail and Steve. Mo has given us many thrills in his career so far and hopefully there is more to come in his future."

First up Unimpeded (Unencumbered X Lilly In Love) breaks her maiden status at her fourth run at Goulburn on Friday 2nd August 2019. We will have a full sister for sale at the 2020 Adelaide Magic Millions Sales.

Next was Ambertone's (Ambidexter X Taken The Road) turn at Morphettville Saturday 3rd August 2019. She scored the fourth win of her career by leading all the way and going away from them at the finish.

Cartel re-groups and is back in business

After his scintillating debut win over 18 months ago, Cartel (STREET BOSS X DEE DEE MISS) lost his way a little and although racing consistently, couldn't manage another win until Monday 25th February 2019 at Taree NSW.

Now trained by Wayne Wilkes, lets see if he can fulfil that early promise.

Ambertone gets a Green Light at Strathalbyn

On 21 February Ambertone, a three year old filly bred and raised on Tosca Farm by Ambidexter out of our mare Taken The Road, took her record to two wins from the last 3 starts in recording a convincing victory at Strathalbyn over 1100 metres. Sitting off a fairly strong pace she outsprinted her rivals home.

Bought for $11,000 when she went through the Magic Millions yearling sales in March 2016 as Lot 1 by astute local trainer Shane Oxlade. No wonder the Adelaide Magic Millions sales are known as the sales where buyers get value for money.

Tosca Farm sold her Zebedee half brother at the 2018 Adelaide Magic Millions sales. He went through on the first day as Lot 224 and was purchased by Shea Eden Racing.

Cartel Mugs Them at First Start

Cartel (By Street Boss (USA) out of our mare Dee Dee Miss (AUS) lined up for his first start, as a 2 year old, in an all age maiden over 1000 metres at Goulburn, NSW, on 19 June 2017.
Trained by Danny Williams, Goulburn, and owned by Ms June Baker and Tosca Farm, the good looking chestnut colt was slowly away  and settled last in the field of 8 up to the home turn.
Patiently ridden by Jockey Jason Collett he was pulled out at the top of the straight and conservatively made up 10 lengths to nab the leaders right on the line.
A good judge timed his last 200 metres at under 10 seconds.
Trainer Williams said in a post race interview he felt the 1000 metres of the race was too short for him and he'd be a much better horse as a 3 year old and over a mile (1600 metres) and more.
He has been sent out for a short break and will come back for the rich Spring races.
